I am writing to express our sincere
thanks for your generous donation of $908.00 for the Recycling grant request
for the Federal Way Schools.
I knew the request was large and hoped that it would be granted as the Federal Way Schools 2 soccer teams and track & field athletes were in dire need of new sweat outfits. Our old outfits were worn and didn't do much to keep out the elements of the Seattle weather (rain). The team was very happy to hear that we had received the grant money and went to work to earn the rest of the money needed to purchase the sweat outfits. We sold candy and earned $300.00. We had a car wash and brought in $470.00. One athlete sold candy on his own and brought in $57.00. With these monies and $200.00 from the school budget we were able to purchase our outfits.
We received the outfits in time for the Special Olympics State Summer Games at Fort Lewis and the athletes were so excited. They looked great and I know that they will get much use over the coming years. We didn't get much of a chance to put them to use in the rain but I am sure there will be many other opportunities for that.
Your generous donation made it possible for these athletes to feel good about themselves and it is very much appreciated by athletes and coaches and parents. Thank you again for your gift to Federal Way Schools Special Olympic athletes.
