Employees at a number of company's are successfully recycling newspaper! The proceeds from this program supports people with disabilities who participate in programs such as Special Olympics. This is accomplished by purchases for uniforms, special equipment, etc.

Not only does the program help people in need but is also conserves natural resources and protects the environment. In a recent year, we recycled over 160 tons of newspaper! As a result, an equivalent of 2,700 trees were saved and over 1 million gallons of water conserved. The amount of oil that was conserved by the Employee’s Newspaper Recycling Program was approximately 60,000 gallons. That is enough to heat 80 average homes for a year!

Newspaper recycling is an easy action people can take to help each other and to protect the environment. Employees are welcome to bring in their newspapers from home too. The rule of thumb is whatever paper comes inside your newspaper can be recycled with the Employee’s newspaper program.

Last year's  program had over 331,000 pounds of newspaper collected.  Thank you volunteer employees for making this program so successful.
